Core-ECT recently carried out specialist concrete cutting and controlled demolition works on a construction project in Walsall, West Midlands. The project involved forming precision openings through a substantial 500mm thick reinforced concrete floor slab, requiring a combination of specialist diamond cutting and demolition techniques.

The Challenge

Track Sawing
Specialist diamond track sawing equipment was used to make precise cuts through the reinforced concrete.
Track sawing provides accurate, controlled cutting and is suitable for demanding applications involving heavily reinforced concrete structures.
Robotic Demolition
Following the cutting operations, specialist robotic demolition equipment was used to break out sections of reinforced concrete.
Robotic demolition provides powerful, controlled breaking capabilities while allowing operators to work at a distance from the demolition equipment.
The Result
