Concrete Cutting

Concrete cutting is the controlled cutting of concrete and reinforced concrete using specialist saws and diamond cutting equipment. It can be used to create openings, remove sections of concrete, form joints and accurately cut floors, walls and other concrete structures.

Core-ECT provides a range of concrete cutting methods including floor sawing, track sawing, wire sawing and hand sawing. The most appropriate method depends on the thickness and type of concrete, reinforcement, access and the required cut.

Yes. Our specialist diamond cutting equipment can cut through reinforced concrete containing steel reinforcement. The equipment and cutting method are selected according to the structure, depth of cut and site conditions.

Our conventional concrete cutting equipment can achieve cutting depths from approximately 10mm to 500mm. For particularly large or heavily reinforced concrete structures, diamond wire sawing can provide a solution where conventional saws are unsuitable.

Floor sawing is used for cutting horizontal concrete surfaces such as floor slabs, roads and external concrete. Typical applications include separation cuts, forming openings, cutting concrete into sections for removal and creating joints in new concrete slabs.

Track sawing uses a diamond-tipped circular blade mounted on a guided track to produce accurate, controlled cuts through concrete walls and other structures. It is particularly useful where straight, precise cuts and clean edges are required.

Diamond wire sawing is particularly suited to cutting large, thick or heavily reinforced concrete structures. It can be used where cutting depth, restricted access or the size of the structure makes conventional concrete saws impractical.

Yes. Electric cutting equipment can be used for many indoor and enclosed projects where petrol or diesel-powered equipment would not be suitable. We assess the working environment and select the most appropriate equipment for the site.

Diamond cutting techniques are designed to provide accurate cutting with considerably less vibration than traditional breaking methods. Water suppression and other dust-control measures can also be used where appropriate to reduce airborne dust and debris.
